It is one of the oldest temples in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Inside Wat Thao Kot, there are historical evidences and important archaeological sites; ruins of an ancient pagoda, approximately 11 meters high, the base of the chedi looks like quadrilateral. The pagoda was built of bricks and clay and some coral rocks Chedi Wat Thao Khot uses bricks as the main structure, and using clay as an anchor. Inside, there is a large stucco Buddha image that was original material. There is a storage cabinet on the left side of the Buddha image which was originally a bookcase of monks. The church remains the same but the roof is still renovated
